L Family

Big thanks to the L Family for allowing me to capture this fun season: two little guys, growing so fast!  I love being with this family.  Lots of energy and joy!

K Family

Oh how precious are little girls, especially when in an adorable duo!  I so enjoyed racing around and capturing the K family.  Enjoy!

Portraits: Alena

My dear friend Alena needed a couple new head shots, so we headed to a favorite place: downtown Kent.  We laughed and drank coffee, catching up on life while reminiscing our best of times.  She is beautiful and witty and these photos make me smile!

Newborn Philosophy.

Columbus, Ohio

A quick trip down to Columbus to visit Keith’s sis at Ohio State.  Quality family time, abounding brick houses, and an overcast spring day: an ideal getaway.

newborn philosophy

A few months ago, I came across this quote on a photographer’s blog.

“When a child’s childhood was their own and not for public display.” ~Jessica Peterson

In few and simple words, she eloquently penned how I feel about photographing children and then sharing.  There is great purpose in photographing a newborn: in a fresh and fleeting season, what can be more valuable than capturing those moments?  Even still, the innocence and beauty in a newborn’s childhood is his or her’s.  Not mine.  If I can capture those moments, while keeping confidentiality and closeness for the family, then I will.

Consequently, my newborn posts will be generally shorter and they will never include the babe’s full name.  If your philosophy is different, I respect you.

Awake and attentive to the camera, this little guy was so charming!  Enjoy.
